RO Antiscalant Selector

Concentrate scaling screen & TRISPE® rule matching

The workflow mirrors mainstream RO projection tools: convert recovery to a concentrate multiplier (optionally including concentration polarisation), evaluate SDSI, common salt saturation ratios and a silica solubility ratio, then map to the TRISPE® range. All calculations stay in your browser.

Method notes & limitations (click to expand)
  • Single-stage RO: CF = 1/(1−Y), consistent with mass-balance recovery inputs in ROSA / IMSDesign-style tools.
  • Membrane-side conservative concentration ≈ feed × CF × CP with CP as a single lumped polarisation factor.
  • CaCO₃ tendency uses a Stiff–Davis style pHs and SDSI; concentrate pH is not iterated with carbonate equilibrium.
  • Sulfate and barium/strontium ratios use 25 °C Ksp values versus molar ion products — no activity coefficients or ion pairing.
  • Amorphous silica uses an empirical solubility curve; membrane vendor limits may differ — verify in their official tools.

3. Scenario flags
4. Dosing (standard-strength basis, optional)

Enter the target dose on a standard-strength (working) basis. If you inject a concentrate, select it and enter fold N vs that standard basis — annual mass uses the commercial product ppm (= standard ppm ÷ N).

Product form

This tool is a simplified engineering screen — not a replacement for full membrane projection software. Final product selection, dose and cleaning strategy must be confirmed with complete water analysis, element limits and field optimisation.
